CAIRE Companion 5 Home Oxygen Concentrator
The Companion 5 is a powerful and energy-efficient stationary home oxygen concentrator produced by the experts at CAIRE, Inc. This new unit is praised for its impeccable eco-friendly design coupled with a high oxygen output of 5 liters per minute (LPM). If that’s not enough, oxygen patients will be happy to know that it’s also very compact, lightweight, and easy to use.
Enjoy Built-In autoFLOW™ and ultraSILENT™ Technologies
Home oxygen concentrators are some of the most powerful oxygen therapy devices on the market. As a result, many patients are concerned about how loud they’ll be and more importantly, how much they can expect to be paying on their monthly energy bills.
Fortunately, CAIRE has addressed these concerns with both the built-in autoFLOW™ and ultraSILENT™ technologies. The ultraSILENT™ feature in the Companion 5 stationary oxygen concentrator is designed to produce the quietest air intake and exhaust (purge) cycles. When the unit draws in ambient air, it uses a 2-chamber muffler to limit the noise intake. During exhaustion, it uses a purge muffler that virtually eliminates all sound.
AutoFLOW™ technology is a system that’s designed to reduce the power consumption of your device and boost its life expectancy. The Companion 5 features a variable valve timing switch that adjusts valve cycle timing based on the flow rate you’re currently using. The result is a 20% reduction in power consumption (250W at 2.0 LPM). Additionally, this reduces sound levels, component strain, system pressures, and operating temperatures, meaning your Companion 5 will last longer without needing repairs or maintenance.
High Oxygen Output
Despite being one of the quietest and most energy-efficient home oxygen concentrators on the market, the oxygen output of the Companion 5 is no joke either. This stationary oxygen concentrator puts out an impressive 0.5 to 5.0 LPM of continuous flow oxygen which is enough for the vast majority of oxygen patients.
Simple and Easy to Use
As a COPD patient, you likely spend a lot of time scheduling doctor’s visits, practicing pulmonary rehabilitation, and cooking healthy meals, so the last thing you want to worry about is fussing with a complex and difficult-to-use oxygen concentrator. Luckily, the Companion 5 is about as easy as it gets when it comes to oxygen machines.
The user-friendly interface on the Companion 5 comes equipped with LED lights and audible alarms to notify you of a change in oxygen output or concentration. To the left of the LED display, you’ll find the flow meter which will show you exactly how much oxygen you’re receiving. On the other side of the unit, you’ll find the oxygen outlet barb and a compartment that can hold a humidifier bottle. With a quick skim through of the user manual or a phone call with one of our respiratory specialists, you’ll be using the device with confidence and ease.
