GCE Zen-O Portable Oxygen Concentrator

GCE is a fairly new name in the portable oxygen market, but they are making waves with their portable oxygen concentrators! The GCE Zen-O is a small and lightweight continuous flow portable oxygen concentrator. It operates using one or two batteries, has a high oxygen output, and you have a couple of different transporting options to meet your needs.

One of The Lightest Continuous Flow Portable Oxygen Concentrators

Weighing just 10 pounds and standing 12.3” H x 6.6” D x 8.3” W the GCE Zen-O is one of the only continuous flow portable oxygen concentrators under 15 pounds. It rivals the Respironics SimplyGo’s size and it’s just as reliable!

The small size of the Zen-O will give you more freedom and mobility when you are out of your house. You will have the option to carry the concentrator using the custom carrying case. But don’t worry, if 10 pounds is too heavy to carry it comes with a wheeled travel cart allowing you to pull the concentrator behind you.

Having two different carrying options gives you a lot of freedom! You will be able to put your Zen-O in your shopping cart without having to worry about your travel cart. You will be able to take it on the golf course or on your boat. The possibilities are endless!

Dual Mode for 24/7 Use

The GCE Zen-O offers both pulse flow oxygen delivery and continuous flow oxygen delivery to meet your needs 24/7. Whether you require a continuous flow all day and night or you are able to use pulse flow during the day the Zen-O will have you covered.

It offers pulse flow settings 1-6 and continuous flow settings 0.5-2.0 LPM to meet your needs! Whether you are traveling or at home, your Zen-O can be used 24/7. Its compressor is rated for 20,000 hours so you will have peace of mind knowing it can handle the 24/7 operation.

Because it offers continuous flow, you will be able to use your Zen-O with your CPAP or BiPAP machine! This eliminates the need to rent a stationary concentrator when you travel and you will always have a backup to use at home in case of a power outage!

Operates Using 1 or 2 Batteries

The Zen-O has a unique battery system. You can operate the machine using one or two batteries depending on your needs and your situation. There are two battery slots on the back of the machine that you can access at any time.

With one battery, your Zen-O will be as light as possible and give you up to 4 hours of battery life on a pulse flow setting of 2 and up to 0.75 hours of battery life on a continuous flow setting of 2.0 LPM.

This is perfect for using your Zen-O for things like quick errands, exercising, and doing things around your house.

With two batteries your Zen-O will be about a pound heavier but you will get double the battery life. So on a setting of 2 pulse you will get up to 8 hours and on a setting of 2.0 LPM you will get up to 1.5 hours of use.

Here is a chart with the full expected battery life:

Flow Rate Expected Battery Life w/ 1 Battery Expected Battery Life w/ 2 Batteries
Pulse 1 Up to 4.0 Hours Up to 8.0 Hours
Pulse 2 Up to 4.0 Hours Up to 8.0 Hours
Pulse 3 Up to 3.0 Hours Up to 6.0 Hours
Pulse 4 Up to 2.25 Hours Up to 4.5 Hours
Pulse 5 Up to 2.0 Hours Up to 4.0 Hours

Cont. 1.0 LPM Up to 1.75 Hours Up to 3.5 Hours
Cont. 1.5 LPM Up to 1.25 Hours Up to 2.5 Hours
Cont 2.0 LPM Up to 0.75 Hours Up to 1.5 Hours

3 Different Charging Options

Having two batteries will prevent you from needing to recharge your batteries as often as a single battery system, but the Zen-O conveniently has three different charging options to choose from:

  • AC Power Supply
  • DC Power Supply
  • External Battery Charger

The AC power supply is the most common charging option. It is equipped with a 110v power cord allowing you to plug it into any wall outlet. As soon as you plug your Zen-O into the AC power supply your batteries will begin to recharge and your concentrator will run off of the power supply.

You will be able to use your Zen-O on every oxygen setting while it is plugged into the AC power supply.

The DC power supply gives you the ability to recharge your batteries on the go. It is equipped with a 12v power cord allowing you to plug it into the cigarette lighter or 12v outlet in your car, truck, RV, or boat! While your Zen-O is plugged into the DC power supply your batteries will recharge on every pulse flow setting.

However, if you are using continuous flow your batteries may not recharge depending on the setting and your vehicle. It will supply you with oxygen on every setting and your concentrator will run off of your vehicle’s battery to preserve your battery life for when you unplug your Zen-O.

When using the DC power supply, make sure you turn your vehicle on before plugging the power supply into your concentrator. This will prevent you from blowing a fuse or draining your vehicle’s battery.

The external battery charger is an optional accessory that gives you the ability to recharge your Zen-O batteries without plugging your concentrator into a power supply. The Zen-O external charger will recharge one battery at a time.

It is equipped with a 110v power cord so you can plug it into any wall outlet. Because your external charger is only recharging your battery and not powering your concentrator it will recharge your batteries faster! This will also let you run errands and come home to a fully charged battery.

Another cool feature the external battery charger offers is the calibration mode. If at any time you notice that your batteries don’t hold a charge like they used to, simply put them on your external battery charger, set it into calibration mode, and your batteries will calibrate in about 8 hours.
